Toothy Tabs - Dirty

Dirty Toothy Tabs Review

Initial Thoughts

When I first heard about Toothy Tabs, a solid toothpaste, I was very intrigued. I’d never heard of a solid toothpaste and was interested to see how well they’d clean and how it worked overall. Then, I became even more excited to try them out because they were a reasonable price (at the time of this post, they’re $3.95 for a box of 40 tabs).

Lush says:

Give your mouth a blast of freshness before a night (or day) of Dirty fun. These innovative solid toothpaste tabs will clean your teeth and leave your mouth minty fresh. Dirty is made with spearmint to freshen your breath and foaming agents to scrub your pearly whites clean in the morning. 40 Toothy tabs per box.

My first experience with Toothy Tabs came while frantically searching for gum after lunch before I was scheduled to meet with a client. I had just eaten some tuna and that was definitely not something I wanted my client to know. Anyway, I couldn’t find any gum for the life of me but, lo and behold, my boyfriend had his box of Toothy Tabs and a toothbrush at his desk. I popped one in my mouth and crunched it up with the front of my teeth. Then, I just started brushing away with a wet toothbrush.

Surprise, surprise! We had foam and bubbles! Due to the somewhat gritty texture of the tabs, I felt like I was exfoliating my teeth. They definitely felt clean and fresh after. There was a hint of mint taste but definitely not comparable to your typical Colgate toothpaste. I actually preferred the amount of freshness in the Toothy Tabs more than my Colgate because of its subtleness. I enjoyed the fact that I could easily drink a glass of orange juice after brushing with a Toothy Tab and not be completely disgusted (which you would be if you drank OJ after brushing with regular toothpaste).

I love the Toothy Tabs! My teeth felt very clean and my breath was naturally fresh after use. I found the flavor of the Dirty tabs to have a hint of mint and no bitterness at all. I can also imagine bringing these on trips to save space in my luggage and to prevent spills. They’re definitely convenient to have in your purse, in your schoolbag or at your desk at work.
