Vanilla Dee-Lite Lotion Review
The more talked about body lotions and creams are Dream Cream, Charity Pot and Karma, so I wasn’t expecting anything overly special about Vanilla Dee-Lite. I actually added it to my holiday wish list last year on whim and that’s how I ended up with it. All of the other Lush lotions and body creams sold in stores are in the black pots so it was interesting to find that this one is in a bottle. The reasoning behind selling Vanilla Dee-Lite in the bottle rather than a black pot may be simply due to it’s lighter consistency. It may not hold up as well as Dream Cream simply because it’s not as heavy a cream.
Vanilla Dee-Lite is not your typical vanilla scent. It’s not overly sweet or sugary. It’s actually a little bit musty with an earthy tone. It seems like the perfect translation of a real vanilla bean: hints of sweetness mixed with a natural scent.
Delightfully soothing, creamily smoothing, vanilla lotion for body and hands. It’s made with light oils and butters – including Hawaiian tamanu and monoi – organic coconut water and Simon’s famous Vanilla Fountain scent!
A little bit of Vanilla Dee-Lite goes a long way. The scent is powerful and very long lasting, especially if applied fresh out of the shower or bath. It may even be used solely for the scent alone, rather than as a lotion. Although described as a lighter lotion, it does a great job of moisturizing. It applies well and absorbs into the skin easily. The use of lighter oils and butters in the cream are definitely noticeable as their is no greasy residue after application. The skin is smooth, hydrated and well scented after just one use and with a small amount.
Vanilla Dee-Lite falls into the same scent family as Vanillary Perfume, Vanilla Fountain bath bomb and Vanilla Puff Powder Dusting Powder.
I was pleasantly surprised by the scent of Vanilla Dee-Lite and the longevity of the scent on the skin. It’s one of the few lotions I’ve encountered that doesn’t leave behind a trace of residue after application as well. Since receiving it, I’ve used it daily as a lotion or as my scent for the day. If you’re partial to vanilla scents, it is definitely worth giving a try. I’ve heard from many people that Vanilla Dee-Lite has actually converted previously non-vanilla fans due to its unique smell and great application. If you’re stuck on the fence, you can always pop into your local shop and give it a smell or request a sample on your next mail order!
